PEople without law of law often only prolongs their opinion on the question of whether the Constitution protects what they consider as hate speeches.

Not by coincidence, people who want discourse to pretend that it is not protected, and people who want speech to continue to think so.

Most of them are mistaken.

This brings us to a question about many of our minds.

Is the decision of the Trump administration to deport students and others here on visas when they engage in anti-Israeli demonstrations on legal campuses or not?

Our right to freedom of expression is wide, but it is not unlimited.

The first amendment to the American Constitution addresses freedom of expression from the front:

“Congress will not make any law … Abbreviation of freedom of expression or the press; or the right of the people to be assembled peacefully … “

The courts interpreted this not only as prohibiting the Congress from making laws; The whole government is prevented from arresting the speech through the police or any other organization.

Thanks to the 14th amendment, the right of freedom of expression extends to local states and governments. They are also prohibited to stop the protected speech.
